dev-lisp/gcl ebuild staticly depend on tetex, wich is pretty huge and not
always
usefull. Maybe it would be better to check for the "tetex" useflag ?

good idea. now dev-lisp/gcl depends on tetex conditionally via the doc USE
flag.
