Hexedit shows a file both in ASCII and in hexadecimal. 
The file can be a device as the file is not whole read. 
You can modify the file and search through it.

I put hexedit in app-editors.  It depends on ncurses.
I am attaching the ebuild and the digest file, I am not
sure if the digest is necessary, as this is my first
submission.
