Description Levi Durham 2004-10-22 09:02:32 UTC
Upon upgrading to kernel 2.6.9-rl (gentoo-dev-sources), rebooting and emerging nvidia kernel, all compiled well, however on modprobing nvidia i recieved an error saying that the __VMALLOC_RESERVE symbol was undefined.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. compile kernel gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r1 (make;make modules_install;make install)
2. reboot
3. emerge nvidia-kernel
4. modprobe nvidia

Actual Results:
standard modprobe error. dmesg reveales undefined symbol __VMALLOC_RESURVE

Expected Results:
Correct loading of nvidia module

This is fixed in nvidia driver 6111, however that driver is still marked as ~x86
