No diff needed; the ebuild from 0.8.8 works perfectly for 0.8.9 when simply
copied.

You forgot to test something - it does work now without filter-flags -O?
I commented it out and it did compile without problems. Well, I'm getting 

glob2: SoundMixer.cpp:70: void mixaudio(void*, Uint8*, int): Assertion `nsamples == 8192*8' failed.

but that doesn't vanish when I compile without -O2, so I'll rather keep a optimized binary without sound. :-)

This bug is about the version bump.  It worked fine for me.  Open a different
bug.
