Description Jocelyn Mayer 2004-10-08 02:53:43 UTC
The ppc target in libbfd is broken, so it cannot merge on ppc, or on any machine if compiling with multitarget USE flag.
The problem is the function bfd_archive_filename has been removed and is still used in bfd/elf32-ppc.c
I'll join a patch solving the problem (need to be cleaned to be used in Gentoo build system).
Applying this patch 'by hand' between unpack and compile ebuild phase made me able to merge on amd64 and x86.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
build fails.

fixed in cvs by removing an old ppc patch. give it about 30 minutes to reach the mirrors.
