Hi, this seems related to bug 60487. I've emerged syslog-ng 1.6.5 and since that, every time rc-update is called, I get this message: * Caching service dependencies... xargs: Le paramètre double n'est pas repérable par apostrophe. Now, if I remove or comment out the line containing the sed command, the message disappear. The message could be translated by something like: xargs: double parameter can't be spotted by (single|double) quote. -- Christophe Garault Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge syslog-ng-1.6.5 2. run rc-update add somedaemon default 3. see message Actual Results: Following message is displayed: * Caching service dependencies... xargs: Le paramètre double n'est pas repérable par apostrophe. Expected Results: No xargs message Since emerge info doesn't give usefull information for this bug, here is the content of my syslog-ng.conf file: options { long_hostnames(off); sync(0); log_msg_size(8192); use_time_recvd(yes); keep_hostname(yes); chain_hostnames(no); create_dirs (no); time_reopen (10); use_dns(yes); use_fqdn(no); # The default action of syslog-ng 1.6.0 is to log a STATS line # to the file every 10 minutes. That's pretty ugly after a while. # Change it to every 12 hours so you get a nice daily update of # how many messages syslog-ng missed (0). stats(43200); }; source src { unix-stream("/dev/log"); internal(); udp(); pipe("/proc/kmsg" log_prefix("kernel: ")); }; #28/08/2004 Ajout des logs du routeur #source s_udp { udp(); }; #destination d_routeur { file("/var/log/routeur.log"); }; destination messages { file("/var/log/messages"); }; destination d_pgsql { pipe("/tmp/pgsql.pipe" template("INSERT INTO public.logs (Log_Host, Log_Facility, Log_Priority, Log_Tag, Log_Date, Log_Time, Log_Program, Log_Message) VALUES ( '$HOST', '$FACILITY', '$PRIORITY', '$TAG', '$YEAR-$MONTH-$DAY', '$HOUR:$MIN:$SEC', '$PROGRAM', '$MSG' );\n" ) template-escape(yes) ); }; # By default messages are logged to tty12... destination console_all { file("/dev/tty12"); }; # ...if you intend to use /dev/console for programs like xconsole # you can comment out the destination line above that references /dev/tty12 # and uncomment the line below. #destination console_all { file("/dev/console"); }; log { source(src); destination(messages); }; log { source(src); destination(console_all); }; log { source(src); destination(d_pgsql); }; #log { source(s_udp); destination(d_routeur); };
you neglected to provide `emerge info` also what version of gawk/xargs do you have ?
