These two patches will fix a bug in uae 0.8.22 sdl sound target, and add ALSA
support. uae > 0.8.22 are a fork of the uae main line and these patches do not
concern them. However, users of the mainline uae should apply these. I am not
sure, but the forked line may probably have applied these already since the
maintainer told me so.

The ebuild author should apply those patches with something like -p1.

Is there any reason to support Bernd Schmidt's UAE any more? He does not seem
to support it any longer.

Yes, there is a reason. The newer versions which are backports from WinUAE are too experimental. UAE 0.8.22 doesn't have all the features, but it's a solid packet.

If no one else cares about 0.8.22, I might volunteer to submit necessary ebuild changes for it.

I downloaded the latest and greatest winuae backport from drummond, and saw
that they have not yet merged ALSA support into it. Hence for alsa users it is
not a choice but a must to use uae 0.8.22 with the alsa patch. This is an
immediate reason why uae 0.8.22 shouldn't be removed now.

Don't worry, you had me convinced with the stability argument. I switched to
ppc recently and UAE is not much fun without a JIT so I haven't used
rcdrummonds fork that much :(

I will add your patches later today.

David, don't add the patch yet. I have a new one coming. Noticed that that
patch doesn't work on newer alsa versions on amd64. The new one does.

Thanks, I finally added it to portage. E-UAE now has its own ebuild and you can
have both installed at the same time.
