Skype 0.91.0.12 is out and should be available in portage Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
The older version is in portage, and this version came out some 24 hours ago, probably less when you submitted the bug, maybe if the user is so anxious the user could try version bumping and provide a bit more help, we Gentoo devs are persons, have a life, and actually do this because we want and think is fun.

This is in portage now, it was more or less a version bump. On a side note, we devs actually monitor updates on packages we maintain, sometimes it takes some time and we need to have our attention focused, but 12 hours is not a very long time :)

Hmmm this version is having problems finding the language files? I am removing from portage.
Well, works fine here: 1. get the skype .tar.bz2 dynamically compiled package 2. tar -jxvf skype* as a normal user 3. run skype and choose your language 4. Voilla :-)
well a manual install works better but still gives some quirks in the language. For what i have seen in the skype forums this release has some serious quirks. Will leave this open a few days to see if any fix comes out.
Well a fix is actually available altough there are some complains... But this is beta code so :) 0.91.0.12 is back to portage.
