From the release note on comp.os.linux.announce: Another bug in connection with XEmacs and PDF modes has been uncovered. GTK versions of GNU Emacs will now use Unicode characters in the LaTeX math menu. The installation process tries to detect a few more things automatically. Some performance fixes have been done. IMPORTANT: Many of the new features rely on special properties in the variable `TeX-command-list' and will not work if you customized this variable for a former release of AUCTeX. If this is the case for you, please re-initialize the variable by erasing the customization, thereby setting the variable to the new default, and re-adding your changes afterwards. Many such changes can be avoided by using other customization variables. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 38597 [details] app-emacs/auctex-11.53.ebuild Taken from auctoex-11.52.ebuild
Added app-emacs/auctex-11.53.ebuild to CVS. Thanks for reporting.
hi: on an amd64 system, emerge auctex has two choices: app-emacs and app-xemacs. interestingly, the app-emacs/ version is masked as ~amd64, while the app-xemacs version is not. now, as far as I know, there is only one version of auctex, so it might be good to consolidate these into one version that does emerge. hope this helps. regards, /iaw
By now, auctex-11.53.ebuild and even auctex-11.53-r1.ebuild are available in portage. By the way, auctex-11.54 just came out (=> new bug)
