During instalation of slmodem-2.9.9-r2 driver I have an "ACCESS DENIED" error. Removing alsa flag produce the same result. Is this still broken? It jus worked for me. Also I just added 2.9.10 can you double check that that one works for you.
Yes. I can't intall neither slmodem-2.9.9 nor 2.9.10. The same problem. Now I have linux-2.4.27. As you can see from my bug report, install script calls `depmod -a`, which tries to write into /lib/modules/*/modules.dep. But emerge do not allow it to do this. If I suppose you have FEATURES="-sandbox", then I can edit my /etc/make.conf and install this package. But IIRC it is very bad to do such things. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not a developer.
Oh. After installation with FEATURES="-sandbox", I found another bug with the ebuild. Installation process shouldn't modify /etc/modules.conf. Only modules-update, should update this file.
