New installations cannot install both net-misc/ntp-4.2.8_p9 and net-fs/nfs-utils-1.3.1-r5 at the same time: !!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled !!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict: dev-libs/libevent:0 (dev-libs/libevent-2.0.22:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by <=dev-libs/libevent-2.1 required by (net-fs/nfs-utils-1.3.1-r5:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) (dev-libs/libevent-2.1.8:0/2.1-6::gentoo, installed) pulled in by >=dev-libs/libevent-2.0.9:0/2.1-6=[threads] required by (net-misc/ntp-4.2.8_p9:0/0::gentoo, installed) However, this is not a problem with net-fs/nfs-utils-2.1.1
Maybe we could try with newer 2.2.1 version :/
Please consider bug 636818. As far as I know, the problem was solved in 2.2.2_rc1_p20171107. It would be better to stabilize 2.2.2_rc1_p20171107 instead of 2.2.1.
maybe 2.3.1 in this days
Let's proceed.

Stable on alpha.
It would have been nice to see a news item before you guys stabilized this and broke my nfs shares: https://sourceforge.net/projects/nfs/files/nfs-utils/2.1.1/
(In reply to Matthew Schultz from comment #12) > It would have been nice to see a news item before you guys stabilized this > and broke my nfs shares: > https://sourceforge.net/projects/nfs/files/nfs-utils/2.1.1/ Strangely I don't see an nfs.conf file in the 2.3.1 version. Either way my NFS root filesystem diskless machine can't see the NFS share anymore with 2.3.1 and it worked fine with 1.3.4-r1. Clearly there has been some configuration change in 2.3.1 and I would like to know what I need to change to get my NFS shares to work again.

arm64 stable. I suggest cleaning old despite m68k/s389/sh. Unfortunately that seems the only way to get them into action - bugs don't seem to ever be looked at, only breakages.
