Description:   Opened: 2004-08-18 23:43 0000 
Compilation needs additional CFLAGS -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE

Also, ignores CFLAGS specified by portage, so this can't even be easily fixed by the user.
