build.log

Hi,

While stabilizing gnome-3.20 on ia64 platform, glib-2.48.2 fails to emerge successfully with FEATURES=test.

From build.log and gio/tests/test-suite.log, gsettings is the culprit:

ERROR: gsettings

ERROR: gsettings - too few tests run (expected 34, got 27)
ERROR: gsettings - exited with status 133 (terminated by signal 5?)

Let me know how I can help diagnose further.

Thanks,

     Émeric

Comment 5 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2017-02-21 01:16:06 UTC
Fixed in 2.50.3 bump by unsetting GSETTINGS_BACKEND as an older version was doing, but somehow got lost during bumps. Not fixed in stable 2.48.2 as that seems to suffer from bug 587042 test failure too anyways. The test was trying to talk to dconf due to GSETTINGS_BACKEND=dconf exported by /etc/env.d if gnome-base/dconf is installed, but couldn't due to otherwise already limited environment
Comment 6 gentoo_usr 2017-03-04 13:20:27 UTC
Unsetting GSETTINGS_BACKEND is a workaround that works (also in the case that gnome-base/dconf is not installed). The better solution, however, would be to apply the upstream patch [0]. Upstream bug reports of this issue are [1,2].

Note: In order to apply the patch cleanly the line number 2373 has to be changed to 2346 inside of the diff.
