Hi,

At the time of writing portage appears to lack a biff-alike (mail-notification program) for the terminal. Attached is an ebuild for my favourite, Eric Fischer's hap.

mail-client appears to the directory in use for such packages.

This should be quite portable, but I have tested it only on x86.
