Description Frédéric COIFFIER 2016-06-03 15:41:44 UTC
net-print/hplip-3.16.5 requires qt4 or qt5 (even if 'minimal' is set) :

!!! The ebuild selected to satisfy "=net-print/hplip-3.16.5" has unmet requirements.
- net-print/hplip-3.16.5::gentoo USE="X hpcups hpijs minimal (policykit) snmp -doc -fax -kde -libusb0 -parport -qt4 -qt5 -scanner -static-ppds" ABI_X86="64" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python2_7 -python3_3 -python3_4" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_4 -python3_3"

  The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
    exactly-one-of ( qt4 qt5 )

  The above constraints are a subset of the following complete expression:
    !minimal? ( exactly-one-of ( python_single_target_python2_7 python_single_target_python3_3 python_single_target_python3_4 ) python_single_target_python2_7? ( python_targets_python2_7 ) python_single_target_python3_3? ( python_targets_python3_3 ) python_single_target_python3_4? ( python_targets_python3_4 ) ) exactly-one-of ( qt4 qt5 )

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
Previous version were able to be installed without qt4 neither qt5.

Can you try removing the X USE flag?

> Can you try removing the X USE flag?

USE flag X is not connected with USE flags qt4 and qt5 (look ebuild).

You need to edit the ebuild:

So you've tried the ebuild with the suggested patch and it works just fine as I understand it, right?

Yeah
Comment 5 Tomáš Mózes 2016-06-05 09:47:48 UTC
Just briefly looking at the ebuild it seems that:

REQUIRED_USE="!minimal? ( ${PYTHON_REQUIRED_USE} )
	^^ ( qt4 qt5 )"

is there to ensure, that you either select qt4 or qt5, but it didn't take minimal into account (in which case you don't want any qt installed).

Yeah you are right. I forgot to take the minimal build into account. This is fixed in Git now. Please test and reopen if there are still issues.

Thanks for the report.

And if the gui does not need, but need tools?

Install my ebuild and see `equery f hplip` (file log_1). And compare with log `equery f` your ebuild with USE flag minimal (file log_2).

I just don't get you!

I suppose with your ebuild you don't have minimal enabled thus the installed will be different of course.

Okay. How install package without gt-gui and with utils (hp-align, hp-check, hp-clean and etc.)?

> hp-clean and etc.)?

Okay I understand.

You need to build hplip with USE="-minimal -qt4 -qt5". However there is currently a bug in REQUIRED_USE which prevents this. I think you are referring to this issue.

If USE="minimal" no gui/tools should be built regardless of qt4 and/or qt5 being set. If USE="-minimal" either none of qt4/qt5 or one of them should be possible to set.

Try if replacing

	REQUIRED_USE="
		!minimal? ( ${PYTHON_REQUIRED_USE} )
		!minimal? ( ^^ ( qt4 qt5 ) )
	"

with

	REQUIRED_USE="
		!minimal? ( ${PYTHON_REQUIRED_USE} )
		!minimal? ( qt4? ( !qt5 ) )
	"

in the newest ebuild fixes your issue.
