I have a remote account whose userid includes the @ character. If I try to access an FTP site or use the Shell link (available in the menu options) in Midnight Commander, I can't log in because of that character. A patch to fix this was posted on the Midnight Commander lists some years ago: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/mc/2001-June/msg00013.html But it was never corrected in the main package. I'm submitting a patch to correct this. (Note: If you wish to test this out, try using mc to log here: domain:mnnwz.net userid:gentoo@mnnwz.net pass:gentoo (You'll need to do gentoo@mnnwz.net@mnnwz.net) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load up mc 2.Go to the menu 3.Choose FTP Link 4.Type gentoo@mnnwz.net@mnnwz.net Actual Results: It doesn't work without the patch. Expected Results: Log in. (Ask for password, actually).

(Note: The patch fixes the problem. I'm posting this because I think the patch should make its way into the ebuild. Thanks.)
added to mc-4.6.0-r9
