media-libs/libpng clutters logs with useless messages such as: >libpng warning: cHRM: inconsistent chromaticities >libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile >libpng warning: iCCP: profile 'icc': 'RGB ': RGB color space not permitted on grayscale PNG Because incorrect images are for example downloaded by browser from internet there is no way to fix these images. Workaround: add -UPNG_WARNINGS_SUPPORTED to $CFLAGS. Similar bugreports: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467936 https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541090
Actually it seems -UPNG_WARNINGS_SUPPORTED doesn't work.
/usr/lib/portage/python3.4/install-qa-check.d/60pngfix is causing these warnings. I'm pretty sure it's a feature.
I'm not talking about build logs, i mean ~/.xsession-errors and stdout
meh, fix the broken images and the warnings go away. afaik, we aren't doing anything special -- upstream libpng has decided to pull the ecosystem forward, and i don't think we should hold it back.
