I started to use 4.4 series in some different computers we handle as this is the new LTS release and... it looks to work fine :) Then, maybe we can start stabilizing this series over the previous LTS release (4.1) Thanks a lot
Arch teams, please proceed as you see fit.
amd64/x86 stable
4.4.6 suffers from drm_framebuffer_reference NULL pointer dereference. Have two machines with intel graphics (one Haswell and one Ivy Bridge) both are affected. Details from debian bug tracker: https://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2016/03/msg00346.html Is it really good to have 4.4.6 on stable?
I would open a separate bug report for your issue (as not all people have your setup). Also, it seems that Greg is also the maintainer of 4.4.x line, then, maybe he could help to get it backported to 4.4.x LTS kernels In that bug report I would directly point to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93822 and the patch to be backported https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/67152/
Hi Pacho, Thanks for the hint. Reported. Bug lives here for now: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=583522, hope to get it fixed soon.
Stable for PPC64.
Stable on alpha.
Continued in bug #597738.
