Description Antti Mäkelä 2004-07-20 04:19:53 UTC
Version 0.2.4 is considered stable. Adds lots of new and interesting features, such as WPA and TKIP support.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Individual packages are

http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases/hostap-driver-0.2.4.tar.gz
http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases/hostap-utils-0.2.4.tar.gz
http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases/hostapd-0.2.4.tar.gz

Also, WPA-supplicant shuld probably be added to the tree too:

I've started work on ebuild for the 0.2 series, i'll post the ebuild here when they're testable.

Please see bug #52854 for details on getting the ebuilds i have up on my overlay space at http://dev.gentoo.org/~latexer/files/overlays/

Give those a test, let me know how they work.
Comment 3 Jens Schittenhelm 2004-09-07 07:38:02 UTC
The overlay test files ar still for hostap 0.2.3 - I tried to make another for 0.2.4 based on this but always get a sandbox violation error, since the hostap driver tries to place the modules into the kernel tree. Compiling them manually worked out of the box.

Note that the developer of hostap has marked hostap-0.1.3 stable for 2.4 kernel series and 0.2.4 for the 2.6 kernel series. We _REALLY_ need to bump these since only the latter one provide WPA support in conjunction with wpa_supplicant.

hostap{-driver,-utils,d}-0.2.4 is now in portage. wpa-supplicant will follow after some more testing.
Comment 5 Henrik Brix Andersen 2004-09-16 11:20:37 UTC
net-wireless/wpa-supplicant is now in portage. Closing this bug as FIXED.
