After upgrading libgcrypt to 1.6.x (both .3 and .4) makes krdc crash while connecting to mac OS X hosts (tested with mavericks and yosemite). Going back to libgcrypt 1.5.4-r1 works perfectly Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.use krdc to connect to a mac host 2. 3. Actual Results: krdc Fatal: failed to create the RNG lock: Invalid argument FATAL: failed to acquire the FSM lock in libgrypt: Invalid argument Expected Results: it should have connected to mac :) I've found this discussion on a debian ml that says there's a patch for libvnc that might fix the issue https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=758635
The patch (https://github.com/maxnet/libvncserver/commit/4674d4632b9ffc6779d9c9f79b8ebb53c12e29b2.patch) applies cleanly to the libvncserver in the tree - can you confirm the bug is fixed with it applied?
is there an ebuild w the patch or should i test it compiling manually from sources?
There is not - you would need to edit it.
Editing the ebuild for epatch_user and applying that patch worked for me.
