Sorry for the delay. 1. The EAPI 6 is now the lateset and the preferred EAPI to which to set the ebuild. 2. Note: $ ls $PORTAGE_TMPDIR/portage/media-video/photofilmstrip-2.1.0/image//usr/share/doc/photofilmstrip html photofilmstrip.hhc photofilmstrip.hhk photofilmstrip.hhp $ ls $PORTAGE_TMPDIR/portage/media-video/photofilmstrip-2.1.0/image//usr/share/doc/photofilmstrip-2.1.0/ So, the distutils-r1 eclass has installed to /usr/share/doc/${PF}, while the build system has installed to /usr/share/doc/${PN}. So the code docompress -x /usr/share/doc/${PN} within src_install() is being done independently of the install by the eclass. SO, you need to patch the build to the the apps help files are both installed to /usr/share/doc/${PN}, which is the recommended location by the P.M.S.

I thought it is /usr/share/doc/${PF} not the /usr/share/doc/${PN} Anyway I fixed the docs/help files path in the ebuild + your other recommendation + added the man support of the package ... Tested it and works ok now... even the help system in the application.... Thanks
