Hi,

like announced in the news item in Mai (bug 546952) it is now time to get rid of <shorewall-4.6.x.

Please mask

 everything in
  - net-firewall/shorewall-core
  - net-firewall/shorewall-init
  - net-firewall/shorewall-lite
  - net-firewall/shorewall6
  - net-firewall/shorewall6-lite

 and only
  - <net-firewall/shorewall-4.6.10.1

for removal in 30 days.

Reproducible: Always

shorewall-4.6.10.1.ebuild is the current stabled ebuild.
Currently shorewall-4.5.21.9.ebuild shorewall-4.5.21.10-r1.ebuild also remain.
None of this can occur until the shorewall-4.6.10.1 is made stable. Then I recommend purging of all.

Ian, I don't understand you:

The stabilization of 4.6.10.1 is finished, see 555188. shorewall-4.6.10.1 is stable on *every* ARCH.

This is also the second 4.6 release in tree which is marked as stable, see https://packages.gentoo.org/package/net-firewall/shorewall

So please explain why we cannot proceed with cleaning up <shorewall-4.6.10.1 and must keep previous versions.

Thanks.

Looks like I misread <net-firewall/shorewall*-4.6.10.1 as <=net-firewall/shorewall*-4.6.10.1. Also I meant shorewall-4.6.13.ebuild to be made stable. However you can request that at your leisure.
Shall remove them shortly.

Hello:

Can I ask you folks to please explain what's happening with net-firewall/shorewall and the related packages (e.g. shorewall6)?

After reading these posts, I am led to believe that there is a new package that supersedes the corewall-core, shorewall, and shorewall6 packages, perhaps using a single package and controlling the features with use flags (e.g. using an ipv6 flag to implement what was used to implement shorewall6).

net-firewall/shorewall is still completely masked however.

What are the plans for shorewall package and how will it be integrated into portage in the future?

There was a news item about this. I made and published it.
