Do reverse dependencies work with this version? I seem to recall some problems last time I added a snapshot.
Hi Mike, I completed the reverse dependencies; my findings per app are below: dev-libs/weston - There is currently no stable release of this app; any version above 1.4.0 works but prior versions do not. kde-base/krdc-4.14.3:rdesktop - Only one version and it works. media-video/vlc-2.2.1:rdp - The 2.2.x line works, and prior versions will be removed once the newer freerdp is stable (as you know, this is my main motivation for getting freerdp 1.2.1 stable). net-misc/guacamole-server-0.9.2 - There is currently no stable release of this app; 0.9.2 and higher works (didn't test 0.8.3 due to it being ~x86 only). net-misc/remmina - There is currently no stable release of this app; the latest (-1.2.0_rc3) works but prior versions do not. net-misc/vinagre - The prior release 3.12.2 works. I ran into issues building 3.14.3 however I don't believe they're releated to freerdp since the prior version works (GTK related; I'll file a bug later). Based on the above, are you good with CC'ing the archs and pushing to stabilize? If there's additional testing needed or I missed something, just let me know.
That's perfect, thank you very much for testing. Copying archs.
Stable for PPC64.
x86 stable
ppc stable
I see the other archs have stabilized but we're still awaiting amd64. Is there anything I can do to expedite stabilization. All my testing in comment 3 was on amd64.
Stable on amd64.
Mostly stable system here. Please forgive me for this: WARNING: One or more updates/rebuilds have been skipped due to a dependency conflict: net-misc/freerdp:0 (net-misc/freerdp-1.2.1_pre20150326:0/1.2::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) conflicts with <net-misc/freerdp-1.2:0= required by (media-video/vlc-2.1.5-r1:0/5-7::gentoo, installed) ^ ^^^ <net-misc/freerdp-1.2:0/0= required by (media-video/vlc-2.1.5-r1:0/5-7::gentoo, installed) ^ ^^^^^^^^ Is it my mistake somewhere? I have rdp as a USE flag for VLC.
(In reply to George L. Emigh from comment #10) That will go away when a newer vlc is stabilized. Until then, either keyword it, mask the newer freerdp, or disable the rdp use flag.
Or just ignore the warning; it's harmless.
Thanks for stabilizing Mike, and yes, now that this is through, we plan to push VLC 2.2.1 as stable soon.
Looks like we still need "arm" to be stable to remove this dependency for VLC 2.2.x stabilization.
arm stable
Stable on alpha.
