after the automatic upgrade to kde-frameworks I am trying to move to KDE Plasma 5. Installing the set @kde-plasma fails on 2 packages. The first is kde-plasma/kdeplasma-addons-9999. The second build error may depend on this one.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.upgrade system using emerge --sync
2.follow the steps from the KDE Plasma 5 upgrade guide where possible (multiple changes are necessary)
3.
Actual Results:  
I even had to unmerge KDE 4 at some point so I am left with a system without desktop (X is installed though)

May I ask what the fix is? I found out before  this reply that a manual install of kde-frameworks/kross solved the problem. So I would assume you have updated the package to list this as a dependency. But after emerge --deselect kross the problem re-appeared.

Correct, the ebuild was updated to add the dependency. See the diff link.
