Fluxbox version 1.3.5 went stable completely ignoring bug 536370 and bug 537356.
You mean 1.3.5-r1? 1.3.6, is too early I think, to be considered for stable, the build system was completely rewritten, making me just mask it for now on my box, when I saw it, until I have time to properly test it. If Daniel or some proxy-maintainer believes it's ok then go for it but please test it thoroughly before doing so.
Firstly, 1.3.5 was partly stabilized until bug 536370 and bug 537356 were revealed. From what I gather, stabilization for 1.3.5 was halted until those problems were fixed. Also keep in mind that 1.3.6 was released by upstream to reveal accumulated bugs from 1.3.5 since users were not running from git and giving feedback. That said, 1.3.6-r1 has been in tree for just over a month now (according to the CVS Header field), so it technically is eligible for stable-consideration. The ebuild uses the patches that were necessary to fix the aforementioned bugs, both of which have been incorporated into 1.3.7. I've tested the following builds of fluxbox-1.3.6-r1 -bidi -imlib -nls -slit -toolbar -truetype vim-syntax xinerama [error, see note 1] -bidi -imlib -nls -slit -toolbar truetype vim-syntax xinerama [okay] -bidi -imlib -nls -slit toolbar truetype vim-syntax xinerama [okay] -bidi imlib -nls -slit toolbar truetype vim-syntax xinerama [okay] -bidi imlib nls -slit toolbar truetype vim-syntax xinerama [okay] -bidi imlib nls slit toolbar truetype vim-syntax xinerama [okay] I checked that Fluxbox ran when X started, that the features were properly enabled or disabled, and tested a loaded session of windows with movement, minimization, resizing, and other basic functionalities. All worked as expected aside from the build without truetype support. note 1: segfaulted, couldn't figure out why. Xorg.log complained about font directories not being found (but that might just be my Xorg lacking a font dir section). Beyond that, I don't know what would cause it to segfault and crash X. The use case may not be supported anymore; I'll ask upstream about it. I don't have the means to adequately test the 'xinerama' or 'bidi' flags. All others seem to work AOK. Fluxbox properly reports supported features via `fluxbox -i`, so the ebuild itself reflects the software correctly.
Please stabilize.
