Building x11-libs/libdrm-9999 on amd64 started failing recently as 'files/libdrm-2.4.58-solaris.patch' doesn't apply anymore. As there are at least 2 other bugs from the past regarding the same topic - isn't there a chance to upstream this so it doesn't has to be kept in sync downstream all the time? Did upstream reject the patch in the past?
I can't find any information about what this patch is for. It was apparently added to the x11-overlay in commit 07d071b1451fdee1cc15b73d77775bc541e87e4b Author: Jeremy Olexa <darkside@gentoo.org> Date: Wed Jan 26 17:47:21 2011 +0000 Import modifications from Gentoo Prefix These modification are tested in the Gentoo Prefix overlay to the best of our ability. The majority are EPREFIX/ED variable changes but there are a few patch additions too. Modifications come from developers and users who participated on Gentoo Linux BTS (http://bugs.gentoo.org) Signed-off-by: Tomas Chvatal <scarabeus@gentoo.org> and into the main tree by 27 Jan 2011; Jeremy Olexa <darkside@gentoo.org> +files/libdrm-2.4.15-solaris.patch, +files/libdrm-2.4.16-solaris.patch, libdrm-2.4.23.ebuild: Push Gentoo Prefix changes from x11 overlay, as approved I have no idea where the Gentoo Prefix overlay is or whether it contains more information. At this point I'm tired of rebasing the patch, so I'm going to remove it from the X11 overlay and from the next libdrm version bump to the main tree. Prefix: Reassigning bug to you. If this patch is useful to you, please send it upstream. If it's not, close the bug.
I dropped the solaris patch in 2.4.60 along with the solaris prefix keywords.
