It has been fixed in 6.2.4 but it's currently not possible to update to this version: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=531114

Modifying the ebuild to include the following patch solves the issue: http://bugs.mysql.com/file.php?id=21874&bug_id=74147.
