www-client/firefox-34.0.5-r1 fails to build. It seems like something is misspelled somewhere. The error states that ${WORKDIR}/mozilla-releas does not exist. Happens in ~amd64 and ~x86. Tested with and without distcc.
It seems there is a full path length problem. Setting PORTAGE_TMPDIR to a smaller name ("/_" in place of a path name longer than "/var/tmp/portage", as "/usr/local/share/data/portage" or "/var/tmp/portage-notmpfs/portage" for me) seems to work.
The build fails when len(PORTAGE_TMPDIR) >= 17, so mainly when it is not the default /var/tmp/portage, which is 16 chars.

I encountered this issue as well, resolved by setting PORTAGE_TMPDIR to something shorter than my '-notmpfs' variant. I think it's probably worth noting too that portage will resolve symlinks when determing the PORTAGE_TMPDIR path - I first tried using a symlink '/var/tmp/prt_ntmp -> portage-notmpfs' but this still resolved to the full (over-length) path during the build.
Right, so the issue that I think we're hitting here is that the shebang length limit (which is 80 chars) is being exceeded. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what we're going to be able to do about this. I can try and make the shebang and/or calls to the _virtualenv python be relative instead of absolute, but I think that's going to be a pretty big patch.. I'll keep looking into it.
