Description Alex Cannon 2014-10-31 02:55:09 UTC
I uninstalled linux-headers and now I can't install it again. I'm going to copy the files over from the Linux source, but it was suggested that I file a bug.

Comment 1 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2014-11-01 01:40:32 UTC
linux-headers-3.13 is stable. there's no reason to use older ones like 3.6.
Comment 2 Greg Kubaryk 2014-11-01 05:59:13 UTC
I decided to attempt to replicate this issue locally, and it happens on =sys-kernel/linux-headers-3.17 too. I recommend reopening this bug.
Comment 3 Patrick Lauer gentoo-dev 2014-11-02 02:42:40 UTC
Happens with all versions, so no reason to ignore this bug
Comment 4 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2014-11-15 08:42:49 UTC
i've sent this patch upstream:
http://sources.gentoo.org/gentoo/src/patchsets/gentoo-headers/3.17/00_all_0008-x86-do-not-build-relocs-tool-when-installing-headers.patch?rev=1.1

no idea if it'll get merged, but it's easy enough to carry locally
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2014-11-15 08:43:04 UTC
should be all set now in the tree; thanks for the report!
