In bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85058 there is a patch which fixes a Xorg-server crash. I suggest Gentoo consider patching xorg-sever-1.16.x until next release. I guess xorg-server-1.15.x is affected too but the patch does not apply.
Will backport to 1.16 once patch is accepted in master. This patch touches parts of the server I'd rather not mess with. Cheers
Looks like it is merged: http://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/35145/
I have asked for the patch to be included in 1.16.2. The ebuild is currently p.masked but you can give it a try.
I already use the patch in 1.16.1 I can try it in 1.16.2 but not until you remove the masking(why is it masked?)

You can unmask it locally using /etc/portage/package.unmask It is currently masked due to the binary slot change I'm proposing to the rest of the team. This change is 100% unrelated to your bug. Please do give it a try. Thanks

BTW, is looks like the patch is already included in 1.16.2
(In reply to Joakim Tjernlund from comment #6) > BTW, is looks like the patch is already included in 1.16.2 That's why I asked you to try it out. Anyhow, the ebuild is now unmasked and available in ~arch. Thanks.
