At least, upstream seems to test on 3.3 [1]. I'd be surprised if they use anything that broke between 3.3 and 3.4 (I can't think of any backwards-incompatible changes there off the top of my head). It's not much of a change, but I've made it in my overlay if you want to grab it from there [2].
