Provide a new ebuild for dev-python/cvxopt-1.1.7. The only change compared to 1.1.6 is that the patch for glpk-4.49+ is no longer necessary. While the current approach of editing setup.py for the various libraries still work, upstream now accept environment variables to achieve the same effect.
Also note that according to CVXOPT's website, it should work with any Python 3.x version. I have been using cvxopt 1.1.7 with Python 3.4 successfully.
(In reply to Jean-Francis Roy from comment #1) > Also note that according to CVXOPT's website, it should work with any Python > 3.x version. I have been using cvxopt 1.1.7 with Python 3.4 successfully. Thanks for the comment Jean-Francis, my ebuild in the sage-on-fentoo overlay only include support for python 3.2 and 3.3 I will add 3.4.
CVXOPT 1.1.8 is out. The ebuild in the sage-on-gentoo does not require a patch anymore and does most things but blas/lapack configuration by environment variables. blas/lapack will eventually follow suite. Support for python 2.6 has been dropped and 3.5 added matching upstream expectations. Ebuild available at: https://github.com/cschwan/sage-on-gentoo/blob/master/dev-python/cvxopt/cvxopt-1.1.8.ebuild
