This version of skype can fail to start with old profile. Removing of ~/.Skype helps. I have no idea if there is a saner solution for this problem.
Skype 4.3 lacks support for alsa: http://community.skype.com/t5/Linux/No-sound-with-ALSA-after-recent-Skype-upgrade-4-2-gt-4-3-on/m-p/3219164 Should I add pulse audio as dependency or can it still be usefull for somebody just as text chat? Or may be add optional dependency?

The new version fails to start with the old profile (segfault). cd ~ && mv .Skype .Skype_old fixed it, thanks to Jauhien Piatlicki! backtrace from gdb `which skype` -ex r http://dpaste.com/0R34CKK
Ok, works for me on both ~x86 and ~amd64. I think all that could be done downstream is done (suggest user to install pulseaudio, hahaha). So closing.
