Created attachment 379700 [details] XBMC 13.1 ebuild This one's case statement should be more copy and paste friendly for the future. I also corrected the SRC_URI for the add-ons, I guess everyone used something like app-portage/fetchcommandwrapper that resulted in it downloading them anyways?

I think I might of done the generated addons stuff wrong >>
Hi, for me it is only working with MAKEOPTS="-j1". But it is working :) I have MySQL as libary backend and auto upgrade work good. But be carefull, the are incompatible to each other, if you have more than 1 xbmc sharing one mysql libary... .
please make XBMC 13.1 ebuild available (if it works that is)
In the meantime, the xbmc 13.2 beta 1 with many bugfixes is available: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=199703
Created attachment 380968 [details] XBMC 13.1 generated addons The originally uploaded generated addons didn't work in my local overlay. I rebuilt them with directories that portage liked more.

(In reply to Manuel Rüger from comment #11) > http://xbmc.org/xbmc-13-2-gotham-beta-1/ The only issue I see here, I can't find a source release of 13.2 beta 1 ...

Oh, those are only released on GitHub. Looking through the commit log it looks like 13.2 beta 2 should be released as well ... But no news announcement yet or a release on GitHub :P
Created attachment 381276 [details] xbmc-13.2_beta1.ebuild The tar ball names seem to be different now since 13.0 release. I had to change the cases, but I think it could be better since the only change is MY_PV. There are no current examples for alpha releases, so I didn't change that case. (ex. xbmc-13.2_beta1 -> 13.2b1-Gotham.tar.gz)

Instead of just copy-and-pasting the old ebuilds it would be nice if the ebuild-related bugs, which have been reported, could be fixed prior to the 13.2 release. Some of them even have proposed solutions. Should they maybe be added as bockers for this bug?
(In reply to Fred F from comment #21) i generally ignore alpha/beta/rc releases (and their bugs) as i don't plan on adding them to the tree (too much instability and churn). i don't close the bugs though as some users find them useful. if there are bug fixes in there though, they should be split out into sep bugs for each fix so that they will be merged into the current release/9999 ebuilds.

Well there's still 13.1 out, which you might want to add to the tree?
(In reply to Manuel Rüger from comment #23) you renamed the bug to beta1 instead of creating a new one :P, so i didn't notice. adding real releases is fine.
(In reply to SpanKY from comment #24) > (In reply to Manuel Rüger from comment #23) > > you renamed the bug to beta1 instead of creating a new one :P, so i didn't > notice. adding real releases is fine. I set the ebuild I was using to not obsolete. Also, what would be the best place to get this to have a new herd? the Xbox herd doesn't really make sense (the last version that ran on the Xbox was 9 something)
SpanKY, what do you mean by "real releases"? Is anything that xbmc.org has generated an official tarball for enough, or do you only want to allow ebuilds for full release versions (ie 13.1, 13.2)?
(In reply to Manuel Rüger from comment #23) 13.1 is now in the tree (In reply to Michael Cook from comment #25) i didn't say you. see the "in reply to" part of the comment for context. creating a new herd is kind of pointless right now, so i see no reason to churn for the sake of churn. ask again when it actually makes a difference. (In reply to Ian Stakenvicius from comment #26) real releases have tarballs: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/source/ alpha/beta/rc's do not fall into that category (tags in github are not sufficient)
(In reply to SpanKY from comment #27) > creating a new herd is kind of pointless right now, so i see no reason to > churn for the sake of churn. ask again when it actually makes a difference. I was just thinking the normal video herd would make more sense since the xbox herd is mostly historic reasons :P
XBMC 13.2 was released on 17.08. http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/source/xbmc-13.2.tar.gz

For the ebuild for 13.2, a copy and paste should work.
regarding the 13.2 final Michaels generated addons and copying the 13.2_beta2 ebuild worked for me, too
should be all set now in the tree; thanks for the report! Commit message: Version bump http://sources.gentoo.org/media-tv/xbmc/xbmc-13.2.ebuild?rev=1.1
