Description Doug Nordwall 2002-02-03 11:25:37 UTC
With evolution 1.0.2, I attempt to enter in a new ldap address source.
Proceedure for this is
1) click on one of the predefined sources
2) go to Tools->Addressbook sources in the top menu
3) click on the add button

at this point, the addressbook component dies.

I use this with Ximian's rpms on a redhat system and it does work. I have the
ldap parameter in my USE line, as well as bonobo. A couple of other people on
the IRC experienced this as well.

I also ran from the command line, but didn't see any useful messages.

grant: I'm forwarding this bug to you too. If you're able, see if you can find
the problem. Obviously, evolution is a big monster and I'm not expecting a
miracle, but thought you may be able to figure something out.

I tried rebuilding gnome and evo w/o -O3, to no avail. I can't seem to find
the problem, and there's no report about this on the ximian bugtracker.

I don't have time right now, but it would be interesting to (a) try downloading
a binary version of evo and see if that has the same problems, and (b) take
a look at RH's evo srpm to see if they're building it in a special way. We
also need to look at dependencies: are we using gnome components that are too _new_?

It seems that this bug is one of the most common on the Ximian bugzilla, so I'm
assuming that it's not our error.
