Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2014-04-05 06:27:07 UTC
Would be interesting to stabilize a newer version like this as it fixes some bugs over current stable and also includes systemd support

Thanks

Compilation fails on Alpha, see bug 517528.
Comment 9 Ben Kohler gentoo-dev 2014-08-03 16:48:57 UTC
The following change in 1.4.0 has broken all applications built against dante where users do not have a real socks5 proxy available:

o Fallback to direct (non-proxy) routes now defaults to off in the client,
as well as in the server.

To keep previous behaviour in the client, with direct route fallback
for destinations with no matching route, set SOCKS_DIRECTROUTE_FALLBACK
to "yes" in the environment, or ./configure with --enable-drt-fallback.

Direct fallback is enabled if there are no routes configured (as is
usually the case in a server configuration), and disabled otherwise.

I really think this feature should be turned back on with a revbump and that new revision stabilized.
