emerge --info

Hello,

I would like to make a request for stabilization for the package app-crypt/ccid, for versions >= 1.4.14, which are in ~arch.

My reasons are I got a bug, with app-crypt/ccid-1.4.8, about my device which is normally CCID compliant.

My device is a +iD smart-card reader (see http://www.pluss-id.com/product for more informations), and with app-crypt/ccid-1.4.8, after I unplug and plug back my device, pcscd crashes immediately with this message in kernel log:

[1] pcscd[3849]: segfault at 7f2bc23e2dd6 ip 00007f2bc23e2dd6 sp 00007f2bc23d0ee0 error 14

Meanwhile, if a pcsc_scan process is running, the process quit with error code 255, and this message spawned:

[2] SCardGetStatusChange: RPC transport error.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Check if no pcscd process are running, shutting them;
2. Launch (as root) the following command:
LIBCCID_ifdLogLevel=0x000F pcscd --foreground --debug --apdu | tee log.txt
3. Launch as user the command “pcsc_scan”;
4. Plug the device;
5. Unplug the device;
6. Crash of pcscd (segfault with message [1]), stopping right after pcsc_scan with message [2];

This is not a problem related to a smart-card, because it occurs without any card plugged in.

Excepted results:
No crash (segfault) of pcscd.

This problem looks like to not appear again, with app-crypt/ccid-1.4.1[4-6].

Here informations about the related installed packages:
[I] app-crypt/ccid
	Installed versions:	1.4.8(usb -twinserial)

[I] dev-perl/pcsc-perl
	Installed versions:	1.4.13-r1

[I] sys-apps/pcsc-lite
	Installed versions:	1.8.8-r1(udev -libusb -selinux)

[I] sys-apps/pcsc-tools
	Installed versions:	1.4.22(gtk -network-cron)

Find as attachment my “emerge --info”, and after, the log.txt from pcscd --debug.

Thanks for support.

Best regards,

Sorry, I forgot, it's actually:
6. Replug it back;
7. Crash.

In future, please do not put keywords your-self, thanks!

Arch, please stabilize.

The keyword "STABLEREQ"? I didn't. :-)

And by the way, why version 1.4.15 and not 1.4.16?

Thanks.

Oh... sorry...

The 1.4.16 was added only recently, it has two non-trivial changes. Better to let people test it for a while.
