nepomukcore is optional, kaddressbook builds OK without it. The question is, how to handle these optional deps? * Baloo (required version >= 4.12.83) , The Baloo libraries , <http://www.kde.org> Baloo provides search capabilities in KMail and Akonadi * Prison , The Prison library , <http://projects.kde.org/prison> Needed to show mobile barcodes of your contacts
kaddressbook depends on kdepim-common-libs, which does depend on nepomuk/baloo, so I'm not sure how we can avoid pulling it in?
I can't runtime-check it as long as I'm on vacation, but at least kaddressbook exists on my system and hasn't crashed without nepomuk-core present. baloo is installed. I can report back in two weeks after emerging latest 4.13 snapshot.
Well, the kaddress ebuild has dependencies on neither nepomuk nor baloo.
Now, I'm only checking this text-wise from a tablet, but it isn't kdepim-common-libs that pulls in nepomuk (baloo it does, however). It is kdelibs[semantic-desktop] required in kaddressbook ebuild which I've made optional in my local ebuild.
As mentioned on the other bug, probably the kdelibs[semantic-desktop] dependency is not required for packages migrated to baloo. If someone is able to test, that would be great.
Thanks for reporting. This is fixed in cvs and kde overlay now. Please sync in some hours to get the changes. The rest of nepomuk dependencies will be handled in bug 508350. + + 22 Apr 2014; Johannes Huber <johu@gentoo.org> kaddressbook-4.13.0.ebuild: + Drop DEPEND on kde-base/kdelibs[semantic-desktop], bug #505240. + http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/kde.git;a=commit;h=f0406f6f73cbeda82c3f6868316430c5fa75ba2b
