Description Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-02-27 05:14:54 UTC
Is it OK to stabilize =dev-libs/girara-0.1.9-r300 ?
If so, please CC all arches which have stable keywords
for older versions of this package.
Comment 1 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-03-30 08:52:05 UTC
Maintainer timeout (30 days). Arches please go ahead.
Comment 2 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-03-30 15:45:27 UTC
girara -r200, and -r300 needs to stabilized together, and those need to be stabilized in sync with zathura
what a mess this maintainer timeout thing is

You removed all the stable versions of zathura, plugins, and its dependencies from the tree when you reverted this. Presumably this should be reopened to actually get a stable version into the tree again? Or the previous stable versions should be restored.

girara was first broken by bogus bug 492030, followed by futher breaking it from this bug (Comment #1), where in both cases I wasn't consulted what versions should be going stable, and -r300 was stabilized without -r200 as a result, putting tree in inconsistent state

So, I made a decision of not maintaining a stable girara or zathura anymore in Portage, for long as this "30 days timeout" policy is in effect, since I can't guarantee I can manually intervene in these bugs within 30 days

Sorry. Just use package.keywords

I opened a thread on the mailing list, asking for the timeout policy to be changed, whatever happens next, depends on results of it

zathura and girara are now in the exclusion list:

http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/arch-tools.git;a=blobdiff;f=stabilization-candidates.py;h=52c88f165e540ea475a4327436264fb20e69691d;hp=879851811a9a74b6f5b6bd7f3f93db3849432bf4;hb=adb66a9d3f80f8f660d362ca5c8363cf85102a0d;hpb=709e4466eb1a8d3c19d522bb2539a821b133bd76

will open stabilization bug for girara, zathura, and all the plugins within ~30 days, and we get stable versions again :)
