I'm not familiar with pulseaudio yet and I'm installing it for the first time. But I think the pulse user is supposed to be added during install, isn't it? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -1 pulseaudio 2. grep pulse /etc/passwd (nothing is there) 3. Reboot Actual Results: There's an error during boot: systemd-tmpfiles[259]: [/usr/lib64/tmpfiles.d/pulseaudio.conf:1] Unknown user 'pulse'. systemd[1]: systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE systemd[1]: Failed to start Recreate Volatile Files and Directories. systemd[1]: Unit systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service entered failed state.
Looking at the pulseaudio-4.99.4.ebuild, the user 'pulse' gets created only with USE="system-wide" Post complete build.log of pulseaudio as well as emerge --info
Perhaps this is a fallout from incomplete handling of bug 480748?
