The latest ebuild in portage for dia is 0.92.2, but according to the home page (mentioned above) the latest version of dia is 0.93 I will attach a version bumped ebuild shortly - would you prefer a patch against 0.92.2 (which will have to be renamed) or a complete ebuild (most of which is simply copied from 0.92.2)?
Ok i'm going to take this one. Question to reporter: do you have the python useflag set by any chance?
I do have the python use flag set, which breaks the version bumped ebuild. This is one of the reasons I haven't attached anything yet. I won't have time to work on a fix until later tonight ie. approx 8pm EST. For those interested, setting the python use flag means --with-python is passed to ./configure, which then fails when checking for libpython2.3.a On my system, libpython2.3.a is found in /usr/lib/python2.3/config/ I haven't had time to read through configure et al (again, this will have to wait until tonight).
Just a quick status update on the libpython problems - it has been raised on the dia mailing list and a Debian dev has confirmed the problem. I'll wait until the problem is resolved (helping where I can) and post here again (I imagine it will result in a new version of dia though - something like 0.93.1).
Thanks, I would appreciate it if you could provide links to either upstream bug reports or ml discussions.
Sorry, here is a link to the ml discussion: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/dia-list/2004-May/msg00020.html There is no bug filed yet, but it seems that many problems are discussed (even solved) on the ml rather than through bugzilla. I'm waiting to hear from the authors or more experienced users (via the ml) before filing a bug in Gnome bugzilla.
Another dia user has filed an upsteam bug, which can be found at: http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142032 So far no response from the dia maintainers though (either on the ml or upstream bugzilla).
I think I will wait a little more on this one for upstream to react, if nothing happens, we'll just have to do --exec-prefix.
An ebuild for dia 0.93 is now in the tree. Thanks for your report.
