Target keywords: alpha This is needed for the stabilization of the reverse dependency media-video/vlc, see bug #499806; if however you don't want to stabilize at this time, let us know and we will (or you can if you want to) put the relevant USE flag on the media-video/vlc in the package.use.stable.mask of the alpha architecture. @Maintainer: Can you please CC the arm arch if you agree, or let me know why you don't agree? Thank you very much in advance.
These packages were added to package.use.stable.mask such that security bug #486902, security bug #499806 and security bug #504088 can proceed to stabilize.
Stable on alpha. Since I don't know the specific flags added to it, I did not touch package.use.stable.mask

Could you test > whether it can be removed without affecting vlc-2.1.2? I'm not 100% sure I understand your request right, but I tested VLC with both postproc and -postproc, and it works in either case, modulo reduced functionality.
Right, removed postproc from profiles/default/linux/alpha/13.0/package.use.stable.mask
