You can update via a local repo and simply rename the latest git-annex-ebuild (currently 5.20131130) to your version.

ebuild git-annex-5.2014xxxx.ebuild digest

will create the checksums and as a last step you have to disable the use-flag "testsuite". it wants tasty > 0.7 but it's not available.

Git-Annex 5.20140306 is out and contains a fix for a really bad bug causing potential data loss [1].

It seems to me, you also need to add dependency on warp-tls for this version.

And even with that compilation fails for me with some cryptic Haskell error.

I've commited new version to the tree, also fixed deps.
