Created attachment 367026 [details] emerge.info I have installed www-plugins/adobe-flash, www-client/firefox-bin and www-client/conkeror. When I try to play video using flash player (e.g.) on youtube it results in "a plugin is needed to display this content". When I replace www-client/firefox-bin by www-client/firefox anything works perfectly. Also www-client/firefox-bin itself has no problems with flash. I've tested it on two machines: x86 and amd64. Versions of software: www-client/conkeror-1.0_pre20131017 www-client/firefox-bin-25.0 www-plugins/adobe-flash-11.2.202.332
Looks like a path issue. Can you try to set (and export) MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH to the path where the plugins are? They should be at /usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins or a similar location.
Yes, export MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins fixes the problem. So ebuild for firefox-bin should may be set this environment variable.
Since by setting the variable a simple workaround is available, putting this bug on hold until we have a fix for bug 497024.
