When I do a search on all xfree I see 7 bugs, when I do a ALL xfree is a load of bugs

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. goto bug.gentoo.org
2. type in the field "all xfree" 
3. next time => ALL xfree

Actual Results:  
I see only a limited amount of bugs

Expected Results:  
Display ALL the bugs

this is because using capital letters is caught by the bugzilla cgi as a command. You might find the other ones contained "all" in the bug and thats why you got that response. If you have further problems you can try asking bugzilla's main bugzilla to fix the problem.
