Additional information: This can only be reproduced on a newly installed system. A system with -r1 version installed won't have this bug when upgrading.

An ebuild which seems out of this bug

I replaced the wildcard with actual names. I guess this could be the problem.

Why fperms doesn't work ok with "*"? :/
Comment 5 Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2013-12-21 18:50:46 UTC
(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #4)
> Why fperms doesn't work ok with "*"? :/

Because it would be surprising behaviour if package manager commands did internal wildcard expansion. That's the shell's task.
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2013-12-21 22:10:54 UTC
indeed, no helper has done wildcard expansion before, and it'd be encouraging bad behavior. for example, in the code snippet here, the shell first tries to expand the * based on whatever lives in the actual / which means fperms never sees the glob and the ebuild ends up doing +x only on files that were already installed.

use `chmod +x "${ED}"/.../*` if you want globs.
