Renaming wine-1.7.4.ebuild to 1.7.6 just works. It also passed the Civilization IV test, so I'm fine with it. ;)

I can confirm that using the old ebuild works fine here.

Btw.
In the meantime there is also new wine "stable" version 1.6.1

wine refuses to emerge as amd64 (will file bug later) using the copied ebuild from 1.7.4.

wine-1.7.7 is out. http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.7.7

current winepulse-patches don't apply to this, need to be updated too.
Comment 6 kisak42 2013-12-05 00:51:20 UTC
We should go straight to wine 1.7.8 when it is available as quirk behavior introduced in the windows steam client has made it unusable with wine. Alternatively, we could backport http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commit/fd65b0a1c3f5f981cc110ca9e6a0edb6323e1296 to get the same effect.

1.7.8 was released yesterday.

wine-1.7.8.ebuild.diff

-MV="0.0.8"
+MV="4.5.2"

pulseaudio made optional; mask the flag until somebody who cares delivers the patches?

threw in additional native multilib deps where possible

passes my beloved Civ4 test

Tested and works fine for me. Also fixed Steam problem mentioned in comment #6. Thanks.
Comment 10 Frank Krömmelbein 2013-12-10 08:12:18 UTC
I can also confirm that the patch works fine here.

wine-1.7.8.ebuild

ebuild with winepulse-patches-1.7.8
Comment 12 Philipp Leonhardt 2013-12-13 16:55:37 UTC
Made an ebuild with patch from Andreas Sturmacher.
The winepulse patches are on my host atm.
Got these from actual wine ubuntu ppa, but they're working for me.
Should I attach the patches as tar.bz2?

Bumped in portage, sorry for the delay!

+
+ 16 Dec 2013; Alexandre Rostovtsev <tetromino@gentoo.org> +wine-1.6.1.ebuild,

+ Belated version bump (bug #490998, thanks to Frank Krömmelbein, Andreas
+ Sturmlechner, Ryan Harris et al.); see http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.7.8
+ and http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.6.1 for the announcement. Pulseaudio
+ patches are now applied only when USE=pulseaudio, since they apparently cause
