i think i'm gonna dupe this for now, because i agree with spider on most points.

my personal opinion is that this tries to solve the problem without really analyzing it and coming to the wrong solution. A notification 'manager' would be an interesting project, but the way of notification seems too unrelated to the app and just randomly chosen from a number of options.

I think this is not the point to put something in portage. I don`t wanna know what`s the average code-quality is. I think, if there are users, who want to use it and there is an ebuild that works and it breaks nothing, there is no problem, putting it in portage. Just my opinion.

wrong, we need to maintain it. If we don't consider it enough quality & it is not used in any way (that would be an incentive), we have the right to say we won't maintain it.

It might change in the future, but at this point I say no.

and btw, leave it duped please.
