Needed for bug 487676
Comment 1 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-10-23 06:34:43 UTC
(hppa already stabilized this)
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-11-09 16:11:26 UTC
Was stabilized in hppa but I cannot do the same on amd64 due it magically requiring python-exec:2 :O Is that normal? Should python-exec:2 be stabilized or this moved to eapi5?

Yes, that's because of EAPI=4 limitations. And since pkgcore uses EAPI=4 and needs python-exec:2, we decided to require this version. EAPI=5 accepts both versions.

Michal, do you plan to stabilize slot 2 in the near future? I have no problem with bumping to eapi5, but I think vapier prefers eapi4 (or preferred it some months ago, not sure if still... vapier?)

Since it went stable on hppa, feel free to stabilize it as well.
Comment 6 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-11-09 17:23:16 UTC
amd64 done, thanks mgorny

For future: please keep dev-lang/python-exec-2.0 and dev-python/python-exec-10000.2 keywords in sync.

Maybe you could add some blockers to force all to remember that :) (otherwise, any one could forget in some months or so :( )
Comment 9 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2013-11-22 20:23:28 UTC

for system packages, EAPI=4 is OK (it's taken me a while to even say that :P). EAPI=5 is way too new at this point. pyelftools is a system package.
