can you paste a little more of the error please?

------- Comment #2 From Andreas Kotowicz 2002-07-12 06:46:34 0000 -------
just did an clean install of gentoo-1.2 with gcc2.95. trying to emerge gnome.
it
fails, as scrollkeeper fails to install.
I found in my logs, that scrollkeeper actually gives an error already before:

>>> /usr/share/locale/sk/LC_MESSAGES/scrollkeeper.mo
--- /usr/share/locale/sl/
--- /us>>> Installing catalog...
>>> Rebuilding Scrollkeeper database...
scrollkeeper-update: error while loading shared libraries:
libscrollkeeper.so.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
>>> Updating Scrollkeeper database...
r/share/locale/sl/LC_MESSAGES/

after this comes a list of stuff being installed and then comes the error
posted
above

one more thing. emerging scrollkeeper 0.30.10 manually fails aswell. version
0.30.9 works though

emerge output

ok, this is a really long list. scrollkeeper actually seems to be involved with
docbook

koto,

what I need from you is the following:

emerge scrollkeeper &>log

then attach the log here

Gabriele, have a look at the second attachment. It's quite an interesting
thing
that is happening on his box.

cat scrollkeeper | grep -n libscrollkeeper*

That shouldn't happen ....

entirely my fault. sorry about that.

0.3.10-r1 should sort you out.

Complete scrollkeeper log file, including stderr

wilbertnl@earthlink.net has the same problem.
portage 2.0.13 and emerge -up world showed me a new scrollkeeper release.
scrollkeeper 0.3.10.
The install function actually didn't install anything, but didn't detect an
error either. After that, the software is registered.
a emerge clean removed all the existing scrollkeeper installation, and nothing
is left.

------- Comment #12 From Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) 2002-07-12 11:23:37 0000 -------
wilbert emerge --clean rsync, emerge -p scrollkeeper
you should see it want to emerge -r1
if not, wait a while and emerge rsync again.

------- Comment #13 From Gabriele Giorgetti 2002-07-12 11:25:37 0000 -------
*** Bug 4890 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

------- Comment #14 From Wilbert van Bakel 2002-07-12 13:35:05 0000 -------
-r2 emerged successfully.

Thank you, Seemant!
